Bureaucracy Reform

Rhenald Kasali and Faisal Basri, both are lecturers, give their ideas about bureaucracy reform. Still, they are outsiders. I think they never give a clue how to solve the problems of bureaucracy. They only speak in normative argument.

What Kasali told is only an impress to an action by Minister of Finance (MoF), his colleague at FEUI. Kasali states that Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, did a breakthrough. Mulyani, according to him, is dare to do something special in their office, especially to increase salary of government official (special for MoF's officials) enormously. In my opinion, this action doesn't enough. I haven't yet heard that by increasing salary, this will be followed with fighting against corruption.

What I hope to be done by Mulyani is that she tells to her staff, "I have increased your salary, if you are doing cheating, even you are just indicated, and I know, I would fire you". That is an action that I am waiting.

Magnificent China

I just attended a meeting about plan of procurement aircrafts by Merpati. What is the interesting one? The aircraft is made by China. The type is turbo propeller, not jumbo jet, the name is Xian MA-60, equal as Fokker F27-Mk500. This plane has 50 sits capacity, small, and it can land and take off in small airport. The price is extremely cheap comparing to the same specification.

I impress with the price. China is always in front about the price, including the price of high tech product.

Then I remember a story told by my old friend when I was in vacation in Batu, my sweet home town. My friend, Rudi, has a home industry that produces hand-made electric guitar. Now, the business is almost collapse because China's product have been coming since 2 years ago with the unbelievable price.

China, what happen there. I am curious to go there.

Bravo Indonesia, thanks to PSSI

I think it's not too late to say good job and well done to PSSI after extremely heroic performance in group qualification of Asian Cup last week.

The players, Bambang, Ponaryo, Aiboy, Markus, Maman, Budi, and all squads of PSSI were ultimately briliant to show magnificent spirit of Indonesia. They are good a picture for elite politicians to give the best effort for better Indonesia.

And also to the best supporters in the world, Indonesiamania, where Aremania, The Jack, Viking, Pasoepati, Slemania, and others primordial supporters unite to encourage one identity, Indonesia.

Thank you, Indonesia.

Pay attention to bubble economy

That is the main message from an article in economist this week. It seems that there is no worrying among economics policy authorities, or it might be that they try to make people unpanic. I hope the second one is true, because the crisis ten years ago is always shadowing us.

Aceh after tsunami

What have been happening in Aceh after tsunami? There have been much higher than 1 million US dollar flowing to Aceh, but only small part devoting to Aceh's community.

Thanks to Teuku Kemal Fasya for sharing the real story there.
