There are many candidates to be the bureaucrat(s) of the year. I took some nominees for the negative and positive light. Here are for the negative:

- Urip Tri Gunawan and his (Attorney General) gank
- The Six Musketeers from The House of Representative: Al Amin Nur Nasution, Yusuf Emir Faisal, Sarjan Taher, Hamka Yandu, Anthony Zeidra Abidin, and Bulian Royyan.
- M. Syaukani, ex Head of Kutai Kartanegara District
And here are for the positive:
- Agus Chondro, an ex legislative bureaucrat.
- Siti Fadilah Supari, the Minister of Health.
- Joko Widodo, the Major of Solo
- Untung Wiyono, Head of Sragen District
- I Gede Winasa, Head of Jembrana District
